My favourite looks from the red carpet Oscars 2015
Rita Ora & Margot Robbie
Gwyneth Paltrow & Scarlett Johansson
Reese Witherspoon & Rosamund Pike
This turned out particularly well, even if I say so myself :)
You know what’s the best thing to do on a cold, windy, dark November evening?
Write love letters.
I participated again in Snail Mail My Email art project. (You can see my previous post on SMME here.) You know, I didn’t even feel guilty reading other people’s love letters. They were so beautiful – I am talking about the contents of course. The relationships people value, the sentimental things they do…
Here are some illustrations I made. I am not including any text, because, well let’s respect other people’s privacy. But here are other few quotes I found on Pinterest.
And of course this, the most important love letter of all!
Oh, how I love those Hollywood movie-screen kisses…
Jon Whitcomb (1906–1988) is an acclaimed American illustrator (see bio here). At the time his illustrations were featured in Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping etc etc. He was amongst the first illustrators to switch to gouache paint from oil for posters.
Currently, I am trying to hunt down his book on glamour All About Girls, hopefully I will find it soon somewhere.
This one below is often associated with a phrase:
“I am so happy I could die”
This one when she is asking for a kiss
Who can resist HER?! Stunning!!

Yesterday I went to the exhibition opening of one of my all time favourite painters (and fashion illustrators) – Vincent Bakkum. I have been a fan for YEARS, and had a chance once to visit Vincent’s studio … long time ago. (See my old post here).
But finally, Vincent is holding a new exhibition in Helsinki and here are some pictures from yesterday. Enjoy:

If you are in Helsinki – I strongly recommend to go and see all this beauty for yourself:

“Screw this. I am going to Wonderland”…and here are my kind of New Year’s resolutions.
Start a diet.
Get a pet.
And when the opportunity presents itself, follow the white rabbit.
The rabbit will provide the directions to the Wonderland:
Get a driving license to any transport you prefer.
Follow the magic dust, too.
But first, clean up. Get rid of the useless stuff.
People too. Let go.
Instead make new friends. You know, with like-minded people.
Document your adventures. Blog more – whenever, wherever.
Start new beauty routines.
Attend awesome tea-parties more often.
Sleep more. And dream of fairy-tales.
Stay fit. Find the best work-out style for you.
To exercise ALL muscles :)
Stay inside your bubble.
But do occasionally go outside your comfort zone…
Run away from troubles, worries and fears. Even if sometimes it’s a bit of a slow process.
Wear more accessories.
Wear new shoes. New ones tend to take you to new places. Think of Dorothy or Cinderella.
Go to the movies more often. Alone.
Find him. The moon keeper.
He has stories to tell. And places to show.
Listen. (The newly acquired pet is listening, too. It’s more fun together).
Start using the mirror’s magic powers. If you don’t know what they are consult Alice. Or Neo. Or Ravenna. No, don’t consult Ravenna. She is dead.
Find the key. You know, the one you have been looking for a loooong time. A key to happiness? Success? Home? Castle?
Whatever project you start – have no fear, start small…
Just start your journey…
And see it grow…
And rejoice at where it will take you…
But if it’s not working out at first, have a break
But it is important you start ASAP
Don’t give up
Even if it feels impossible
Find new perspective.
And if you feel like crying along the process, go ahead:
But aways stay true to yourself and remember to be persistent…
And while you are busy working on your dreams…

p.s. In case you are wondering, yes, this post took ages to make.
